Portable Meditation Chanting Stools

My chanting stools feature a unique two-piece or collapsable one-piece design that allows for easy storage and transportation. The leg and seat can be quickly separated by lowering the spring-loaded dovetail in the middle of the leg. The stools can also be made with a traditonal fixed leg design, that doesn't detach from the seat, with either one or two legs. While other stools may damage tatami mats, my stools have smooth leg bottoms.

These meditation stools can be made larger, smaller, or with a flat topped seat if desired. Every stool is finished with four coats of hand rubbed oil-urethane. I currently construct the stools from the following woods: Birch, Bubinga, Cherry, Goncalo Alves, Lacewood, Leopardwood, Maple, Oak, and Padauk.
